Designed by Scottish born architect John McArthur, construction on City Hall began in 1871 and took 30 years to complete. When finished, it was one of the largest buildings in the world. It remains the largest freestanding masonry building on earth. 

The artwork is designed by Philadelphia artist Jon Billett and is printed on a maroon Next Level blend shirts (52% Cotton, 48% Polyester).
