The Philadelphia Stars were founded in 1933, played in the Negro National League from 1934 to 1948, and the Negro American League from 1949 to 1952. They played in Philadelphia's West Parkside neighborhood, at the Pennsylvania Railroad YMCA Athletic Field at Belmont and Parkside Avenues. On Monday nights, they would often play at Shibe Park.

Led by lefthanded twirler Slim Jones, the team won the 1934 Negro National League championship. Their home games at that time were played on Passon Field, which today is the home field for West Philly High School

Part of the Shibe Originals collection - designs by Philly artists and exclusively available at Shibe Vintage Sports.

Son snatched it

I opened the package, pulled out the shirt and smiled. Before I could even hold it up to my body….my son snatched it and has kept it as his own. I will have to order another one and hide it immediately. We love everything about these shirts!
