Players said the lesson learned from Doc can help them improve their mental approach, which is critical to the success of professional athletes. That was a big reason why I wrote Doc in the first place. I was always fascinated that Halladay wanted to spend his post-playing career working as a mental skills coach, sharing his knowledge and wisdom with others.
