Flyers Fever = Female Frenzy

The fine folks at the store had been telling us for almost a week that they've been pleasantly surprised  at the large number of women customers shopping for Flyers accessories, mostly to personally adorn, during the break between the first-round, six-game elimination of Pittsburgh, and the start of the conference semi-final series with New Jersey that continues tonight with game two in South Philly and the Flyers up 1-0.

Sure enough when we stopped by ourselves yesterday afternoon, there were two women trying on different items, excitedly talking about the team's chances to move on and perhaps face the top-seeded New York Rangers in the conference finals.

"Not so fast," reminded the Flyers fan to an inquisitor.  "We have to take care of business (beating the Devils) first."

Professional hockey has always been a popular sport among women according to major polling companies, and that includes all age demographics.  In Philadelphia, where Flyers loyalty is legendary among generations of families dating back to club's debut in 1967, there's always been a huge turnout of female fans first at the Spectrum and now Wells Fargo Center.

And for this particular group out there on Facebook, if anyone's a Flyers fan near Philly, stop by we'll take good care of you.

Coming Up: Speaking of the Flyers and the Spectrum, know anything about the patch below? You will tomorrow as John Rabik has details about the patch, when and by whom it was worn, in tomorrow's installment of Authentically Speaking.

Speaking of Patches: Many baseball team jersey patches will be on display next Thursday, May 10, at the Pro League Authentics store for the second installment of  "Jerseys as Art," PLA's four-part exhibition series this spring/summer.

The presentation features former Mitchell & Ness president and throwback uniform expert Peter Capolino discussing and exhibiting jerseys going back decades to the all-flannel era, and a collector's look and presentation of virtually all of the commemorative jersey patches (original Yankee Stadium 50th anniversary patch worn in 1973 - above) ever worn by the 30 major league clubs.

The event begins at 6:00 pm at our Center City store location (137 S. 13th St - between Walnut/Sansom), with refreshments provided and in-store discounts on all authentic MLB products.

We hope to you see you there, but if you can't make it we plan to tape the event to be available online.

clarnbart gave a good answer. i would add the foowillng-track sales efforts and find out what works where and with whom. by tailoring your efforts you can reduce costs and increase sales by employing the right tactics instead of “hit and miss”, one size fits all strategies. If you can’t afford sales tracking (CRM (customer relationship mgmt) or SFA (sales force automation) software now, keep track in Excel to start.identify and listen to your best reps-they will tell you what they need and what doesn’t work. Find out the factors of successful sales and maybe more importantly the factors of rejection.business cards are a must, and cheap. as far as the other stuff, have some basic product material but not too much until you get a better idea of what you need. Keep the material simple but eye-catching and concise. what problem does your product/service solve and why should they buy it?if applicable, seriously consider route planning software especially in light of gas prices-it will maximize call efficiency.one more thing-make sure commission structure does not encourage “sell and run” if this is applicable-if you want to build long term customers don’t front load the commission plan such that it doesn’t pay to build exisiting accounts. compensate for keeping business and building it, even if growth is slow. remember, it’s a lot easier and cheaper to sell to existing customers than to get new ones.hope this helps.References :

American Needle Fitted Hats

If you do not know your size, first determine where on your head you want to wear your hat. Usually it is worn about a half-inch to an inch above the eyebrows and/or just above the ears. Have a friend hold the tape measure (cloth, plastic, or download a printable version here) at the point where you want the hat to rest on your head.  Insert the tip of your little finger between the tape and your head.  Record the measurement and find your Fitted Hat size using the chart below.  This should provide you with a comfortable fit.

Apparel Sizing Tips:

Use these tips as a general guide when finding your measurements:

Chest/Bust: With your arms at your sides, measure around the fullest part of your chest, across shoulder blades and under arms.

Waist: To measure your natural waistline, wrap the tape so it intersects your navel. Keep tape flat, but comfortably loose.

Hips: Stand with your heels together and measure the fullest part of your hips. Make sure the measuring tape is level all the way around your body.

Inseam: Stand up straight, and start the tape measure high in your crotch. Straighten the tape down the inside of your leg to the bottom of your ankle.
