After an interminably long break between games, the Athletics and the Giants will return to the field today to pick up the Series where they left off last week. The game will be a rematch of Game 1 between Mathewson and Bender. It will be the 3rd time in 4 games that Mathewson has gone to the mound in this Series. Mathewson earlier stated, “A certain amount of rest has done the team good, because I believe that some of the players were a little stale; but too much is going to hurt them.” We’ll find out who the rest has helped and hurt this afternoon. We’ll carry the game here live at 1 p.m.
