This installment of our stadium series features the Cathedral of College Basketball! The Palestra hosted its first game on January 1, 1927, where Penn would top Harvard in front of a crowd of 10,000 people, which at the time was the biggest crowd to watch a hoops game on the East Coast. The Palestra is still used to this day, hosting all Penn home games, as well as many of the Big 5 round-robin matchups. In fact, it's hosted more college basketball games than any arena in the country!
We honor the Cathedral of College Basketball with these remarkably comfortable Next Level shirts with artwork designed by Philadelphia artist Jon Billet.
This tri-blend shirt is 50% Polyester, 25% Cotton, and 25% Rayon.
4XL is made of 100% Cotton.
Part of the Shibe Originals collection - designs by Philly artists and exclusively available at Shibe Vintage Sports.
Comfortable t-shirt
Great shirt. Great fit.
Finally gave the Christmas present.
The reaction? "You always find the coolest things!"
Bought Palestra for 2 brothers. Loved the shirts. Other brother got an Iggles & he loves it. Keep Philly vintage!
I bought this as a gift for my brother who went to St. Joe's and was a big Hawks basketball fan. As soon as he opened it and realized what it was, he was floored and couldn't stop talking about it! Just like all Shibe t-shirts the fabric is soft and comfortable and the design is unique. It's one of those designs where if you know, then you know. And if others know, you get that nod. The only issue I had was with the colors. They look a little more washed out and aren't as bright as they look in the first picture.
