The Stars were founded in 1933, and played in Philadelphia's West Parkside neighborhood, at the Pennsylvania Railroad YMCA Athletic Field at Belmont and Parkside Avenues. On Monday nights, they would often play at Shibe Park.
Led by lefthanded twirler Slim Jones, the team won the 1934 Negro National League championship. Their home games at that time were played on Passon Field, which today is the home field for West Philly High School.
I love that we can rep such a historic franchise. I think that having apparel for those teams that paved the way for the game to evolve to what we have today. I love the rich history, I love the hat itself
The cap is beautiful. Perfect color and the Stars P really pops!!
Love the colors and stitching - perfect all-around! A great way to commemorate an oft-forgotten team.
